Albert Thomas Green, Jr.

Albert Thomas Green Jr. of Clifton Park, NY, died on June 27, 2023.  He passed peacefully surrounded by his family.

Albert was born on September 15, 1946 in Springfield, MA to Albert (Sr.) and Norma (Caughlin) Green.

Al worked as a pressman for most of his life. He spent a total of 36 years working on the press team for Williams Press and for the Times Union. He is well recognized for his extensive knowledge of the press and would love to share his stories of his evenings with his “newspaper family”. Above all else, Al was a father and a Jida (grandfather). He loved being with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Whether it was in his backyard or at the beach, he was always up to help someone fix their car, jump in the waves or sit and watch a cowboy movie. He loved to share his pride for his children and grandchildren. Al was a man who led with pride. Pride of his family, his Lebanese heritage and his gorgeous yard. He will be greatly missed by so many people from all over who called him “Jida” and “Uncle Al”.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael (Catherine) and by his siblings, Raymond (Dot), and Alberta (Morrison).

He is survived by his wife Janice; siblings; Thomas, John (Joanne), Mary, Martha (Thomas), Cheryl (Thomas); children Albert (Heather), John (Erin), and Barbara (Vince); grandchildren Shawn (Skylar), Ashley (Art), Jacob (Jordan), Laurel (Jacob), Nicholas (Meghan), Sarah, Gabrielle, Jordan (Taylor), Lydia (Sophie) and Aiden; great-grandchild, Ocean; great-grand nieces and nephews, Lucas, Avery, Emery, Charlotte, Sadie, Odin, Isabella, Bayleigh, Natalia, and many others who call him “Jida”.

A private family gathering will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 in Saratoga Springs, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
