Alan Eichorst Obituary

Alan Eichorst, age 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 1, 1948, in Ballston Spa, NY, the son of the late Lewis and Irene (Reckner) Eichorst.

Alan was the proud owner and operator of Hyspot Mobile Home Park for many years. Earlier in his career, he worked as a draftsman and designer in Pennsylvania and Saratoga before returning home to manage the family business following his father’s passing. He officially retired in 2018.

Alan met the love of his life, Ina, when she was sixteen and he was twenty-one, and together they recently celebrated 56 wonderful years of marriage. Alan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished every moment with his family. He enjoyed tinkering with tools, working in his yard, and spending time with his friends and neighbors.

A proud veteran, Alan honorably served his country during the Vietnam Era. He was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast who loved attending Americade and sharing the open road with his many riding friends.

Alan is survived by his beloved wife, Ina Eichorst; daughter, Christina Armbrust (Eric); grandchildren, McKay Armbrust (Leanne) and Taylor Griffeth (James); great-grandchildren, Flora Armbrust and Johnathan Armbrust; brothers, Robert Eichorst (Evelyn) of Greenfield Center, Dennis Eichorst of Argyle, and Timmy Eichorst (June) of Utah; sisters-in-law, Claudia Coons, Darlene Pratt (Bill), Alice White (Tony), and Norma Thivierge (Art); brother-in-law, Norman Coons (Deena); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He will also be lovingly remembered by his three dogs, Bella, Ginger, and Chloe, and his motorcycle family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Irene Eichorst, and his infant son, Alan Eichorst, Jr.

Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY.

At the conclusion of the calling hours, a military honors presentation will take place, featuring the ceremonial folding of the flag and the playing of “Taps” in tribute to Alan’s service.

Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for fellowship at Mama Bear’s Diner, 106 Broad Street, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
