William H. Vetter

SARATOGA SPRINGS --

William H. Vetter, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Saratoga Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family.  

He was born January 31, 1931 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to William and Rose Vetter.

Bill worked for 30 years as a Rural Carrier for the U.S. Post Office. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing golf, camping, jogging, and cross-country skiing. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rose (Hoffman) Vetter, who he married on April 29, 1977. He is also survived by his son, Robert Vetter (Madeline (nee) Cheers); his sons-in-law Ronald and Dennis Mahoney; and his grandchildren, Dennis Mahoney Jr., Andrew Mahoney, Brendon Mahoney Rachel Mahoney, and Chelsea Mahoney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY with Reverend Adam Wiegand officiating.  Family and friends may call from 10 am to 10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

A Graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
