Shirley Boevin Obituary

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Shirley Boevin, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on June 5, 1927 in Fort Edward, NY, The daughter of the late Newell MacDonald and Elitha VanDusen MacDonald.

Shirley was a manager for the Western Union for many years.  She loved her log cabin in Stony Creek. Her connection to nature, up the mountains, through the woods and along the plains drew her to love hiking.  In her quiet time, she loved knitting, sewing and needle point.  Shirley’s greatest passion and delight was the time she spent with her family and friends. 

Shirley leaves behind her children, Gregory Boevin (Laurie); Gretchen Dixon (Rod), Ginger Hanehan; sisters, Joyce Bacon, Elaine Duguay; four grandchildren, Virginia VanDusen (Russell), Kristina Decker, Jessica Hanehan, Christopher Barber; four great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by Robert Boevin, her husband of 71 years!

At the families request there will be no services. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Compassionate Funeral Care, Inc, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
