Sandra Coons, age 80, silently closed the door of life and departed from us on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 2, 1937 in Amsterdam, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Jessica Manhey.

She was a secretary for the family business, Coons Oil Co. for many years.  She brought joy and the spirit of positivity and cheerfulness to everyone she touched, but most of all she loved life and everyone and everything about it. 

She is survived by her sons, Thomas Coons, Timothy Coons; sister, Kathy Collins; grandchildren, Jessica, Cameron, Bradley, Ashleigh, Matthew Coons and many friends and extended family. 

At the family’s request, there will be no calling hours or service at this time.  

The family would like to thank the staff at the Albany Medical Center and the Wells House in Johnstown, for the compassionate care and understanding they gave our mom and family in her final days.
