Roger Bechard, age 56, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 9, 2018.
He was born on March 24, 1961 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the son of Lucille Marchand and the late Leon Bechard.
Roger had a heart of gold along with his passion as a volunteer firefighter with the Maple Ave. Fire Department. He may be remembered for his laughs, but was also a dedicated member of the Elks, ITAM and the American Legion. Roger never met a stranger and was willing to do anything to help someone in need. He was a friend to all and will be greatly missed.
Roger was predeceased by his father, Leon and is survived by his mother, Lucille. Roger was also survived by his partner of 20 years Isabelle (Liz) Kloss; Son, Philip Bechard (Kayla); four daughters, Ashley Bechard, Jamie Sellman (Matthew), Stacey Acuna (Richard), Michelle Salisbury (Scott); sister, Annette Haley; fourteen grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.
Family and friends may call from 5:00 pm to 7:45 pm on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, New York. A Firefighter service officiated by Rev. Carole Miller will be held at 8:00 pm.
Rev. Carole Miller will be officiating a Celebration of Roger’s life after the Elks Funeral service ritual beginning at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge #161, 1 Elks Lane, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maple Avenue Fire Department.
