Mary Elizabeth "Ma White" White

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Mary Elizabeth White “Ma White”, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Wesley Health Care Center. 

She was born on July 3, 1930 in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of the late Stewart Dorsey and Pauline Betty Asgill Dorsey. 

Mary was a caregiver and nanny for over thirty years.  As a caregiver she became very close to those she cared for with love and compassion, they were family to her.  Everyone loved her fried chicken, she was well known for her cooking. She loved to watch her hummingbirds in the window.  Mary loved people, she welcomed everyone into her home with love.  Mary’s greatest joy and passion was her love for family and friends, everyone called her “Ma White”.  She loved the Lord and was a very gracious woman of God.  She will be missed dearly.    

Mary is survived by her sons, Paul White, Stewart White; sisters, Gloria Miller, Pauline Jackson; brother, Charles Dorsey, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her son, James White, granddaughter; Diandra White, brothers, Douglas Dorsey, Caleb Dorsey; sister, Barbara Dorsey; niece, Carol Miller; her special friend and client Esther Taylor and other relatives and friends.  

A homegoing service will be held at 6 pm on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, Larry Pender officiating.  Family and friends may call from 4 pm to 5:45 pm prior to the service
