James P Van Ness left this earthly life June 17, 2018 in a road accident.
James was born July 22, 1963 in New London, Connecticut to Marcia and James Van Ness and an older sister Sheila.
James was a pipe fitter with Local 773. He traveled over the years with his profession and said he experienced the beauty that’s right in our own back yard.
James, or, as some called him Jimmy, Jimbo, Jimmy Malta, Wolfe, Lone Wolfe, had such a special soul, a big heart, a contagious smile, charisma and a beautiful sense of humor. He possessed such wisdom and knowledge on so many levels.
His unwavering faith and love in God and his deep spirituality he helped many along his journey. James was a lifelong avid biker, that’s where he found his only peace, out on his Harley in the open air. James was also a huge animal lover, eyes, hearts and kisses of dogs lit him up from the inside out.
James was known for his ease in frequent conversation among anyone, he just wanted to make people smile. James has touched the hearts of many during his life. A truly golden heart stopped beating.
James is survived by his beloved companion and lifelong friend, Heidi Mitchell; father, James C. Van Ness Jr.; aunts, Toni Treadway, Paula Williamson, Terrie Boisseau, Judy Toussaint, Patricia Lewis, Carol Felice, Alice Brackett; niece, Sativa Sacco, many cousins and his dog, Owen.
James is predeceased by his Mother Marcia Van Ness (Armstrong) and his Sister Sheila Marie Van Ness.
A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Family and friends are welcome to join the family for a graveside service at 1:30 pm on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, NY.
