Hazel Woodcock

CORINTH - Hazel Woodcock, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 30, 1926, in Barkerville, NY, the daughter of the late Bill Steele and Mae Tindle Steele. 

Hazel was a homemaker who shared her love with food.  She enjoyed dinners with family and friends.  She possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many.  She had a gift of joy, that was shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around which will never be forgotten.   She loved crocheting, camping and watching TV, but she cherished her time with her grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Woodcock, daughter, Patty Cumm, son, Robert Woodcock, sister, Edna Miller and grandson, Melvin Truelove.

Hazel is survived by her children, John Woodcock (Karol), Charlie Woodcock, Rose Thew, Lena Bowen (Jim) of Porter Corners; daughter-in-law, Linda Woodcock; sister, Marion LaFountain; sister-in-law, Irene Keech (Wayne); grandchildren, Elicia Morris (Ricky), Tammie Kahl (Jason), Lisa Hollner (Kevin), Kristie Showen (Jim), Stacy Woodcock (Jeremey), Rose Marie Truelove (John), Andrew Woodcock, Megan Woodcock, Brittney Woodcock, Kevin Woodcock, Kim Cumm, Tina Swim, Keith Cumm (Sue), several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends who will miss her dearly.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.  If you would like to be part of the processional, please arrive at the funeral home at 1 pm.

A special thanks to Joanne and Keith La Fountain, Dr. Susan Dorsey, nurses and staff for taking care of Hazel when needed.

In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Hazel can be made to Compassionate Funeral Care to help the family with funeral expenses.
