SCHENECTADY - On Sunday, May 21, 2017 Guy Douglas Simmons passed away at the age of 52. Guy will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Francine Simmons, his sisters Jada Simmons and Tammy Wilson, and his nieces and nephews Tamika Boland, Noelle Wilson, Kelaiah Randolph, David Randolph Jr., and Isaiah Harris.

Guy was born on March 5, 1965 in Brooklyn, NY to Lawrence and Francine Simmons. From the time he was young, he was a very talented artist, drawing and sketching everything from comic book characters to portraits. As a teenager, he became interested in computers long before they became popular for personal use. He was the first among his family and friends to own a computer. 

He graduated from Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, and attended Schenectady County Community College where he majored in computer science. 

Guy was an active member of First Baptist Church of Scotia for many years.

He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, and playing chess.

Funeral services will be held at 4 pm on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Compassionate Funeral Care 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (518) 584-4844.  Family and friends may call from 3 pm to 3:45 pm prior to the service.
