SARATOGA SPRINGS - George J. Fitzgerald, age 71, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 18, 1947 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the son of the late George O. Fitzgerald and Frieda Hoffman Fitzgerald.
George was a self-employed carpenter for many years. He was also a lover of fine whiskey and the presence of his friends. George also enjoyed his fishing conversations with anyone who would listen.
George is survived by his son, Adam M. Fitzgerald; daughters, Erin Fitzgerald, Tiffany Sprague (Shawn); sister, Kathleen Duncan; grandchildren, Nathaniel Snape, Carolan Jones, Kaleb Fitzgerald, Skyler and Sean Fitzgerald, Serena Wood (Chris), Jordan Northrop; nieces, Pamela Seymour (Joseph), Kristy Santos (Josh); Nephew Richard Duncan and many close friends who loved him dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 6 pm on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Male Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY. Family and friends may call from 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
