Welcome to the memorial page for

Fred J. Pettinelli

February 25, 1931 ~ December 5, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Fred J. Pettinelli, age 86, returned to his heavenly home on December 5, 2017 after a short illness.

He was born on February 25, 1931 in Bronx, NY, the son of the late Enrico Pettinelli and Antonina Constantini Pettinelli.

Fred serviced his country in the army with pride.  Prior to moving his family to New York, Fred owned and operated Pettinelli Construction, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. In 1969, he and his wife, Antoinette, owned and operated Brooklawn Village in Bolton Landing, NY.  Fred, Antoinette and his children worked together to operate the grocery store, laundromat, seasonal housekeeping cottages, gift shop and real estate office. As retirement approached, Fred and his Antoinette moved to Saratoga Springs, New York. During those years, he and his wife wintered in Zephyrhills, Florida returning home during the warmer months to experience the Saratoga horse racing season and time spent at the Bolton Landing beach with his grandchildren. Fred and his family hold many loving memories at the beach as his grandchildren were growing up.

Fred held his love for Jesus through his entire life. In his later years, he found his relationship with God as comfort and company. Fred provided his children with a strong Catholic background. Until his death, he was immersed in the Christian community that has been his

lifelong support from an early age. Fred enjoyed gardening and was very proud to tend his meticulously manicured lawn. Fred did not miss a day away from Fox News. If you couldn't stay for a while, you didn't want to get him started talking about politics!

Fred is survived by his daughters Antoinette Roth (Martin Roth) and Susan Pettinelli; grandchildren Chelsea Roth, Brian Roth (Molly Roth) and Felicia Roth; great-granddaughter Kali Roth; his brother John Pettinelli; brother-in-law William Schlenk Sr. and many nieces and nephews. Fred loved his family. He especially loved having his own daughter Susan as his personal caregiver over the past two years.  He left this life in the company of Chelsea and Felicia which brought him comfort and peace.

Fred is predeceased by his parents, his wife of 50 years, Antoinette Battista Pettinelli and sisters-in-law Lucille Pettinelli and Natalie Schlenk.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at St. Peter's Cemetery, 150 West Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  At Fred's request, there will be no calling hours.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Saratoga Sherriff Department and the Saratoga County EMT’s for their assistance provided to Fred as his health began to fail.
