Frank Pravda

Frank Pravda, age 89, our dearest family member passed away on Monday, M ay 1, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.  We thank all those who made his extended stay with us possible.  His dearest sister-in-law provided the care he needed to live at home during his illness.

He was born on January 2, 1928 in Dunnellen, NJ to the late Nellie and Frank Pravda.   

He graduated from Metuchen High School in New Jersey and the Tri-State College in Angola Indiana.  He earned his college expenses by being a mentor and instructor to other students.  He graduated as an electrical engineer from Tri State college in Indiana.  He worked as a consulting engineer at many prominent companies and was offered prominent positions, but he chose to be with family and home.  After WWII he served in the Army at Fort Monmouth, NJ in the military police after having put a base bully on the deck for his chow line break-ins he was chosen to be in the military police and was an MP for his required 2-year term.  He was meticulous in everything he undertook at home and at work.  At his consulting positions, he taught dedication and excellence to all, which companies value.   He also worked as a consultant electrical engineer for GE, IBM American Cash Register and by doing so traveled all over the US. 

Frank is survived by his sister Helen Pesch of Borger, TX; brother, George Pravda (Gertraud) of Wilton, NY and several nieces and nephews in Texas and Nebraska; a grandniece, Karleigh; great-grandnephew, Mason and a great-grandniece, Aubrie. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Miton; sister, Blanche and his nephew, Tom. 

A private graveside service with military honors will be at a later date.
