SARATOGA SPINGS – Florence A. Harrington DeMatteo, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 14, 1926, in Whitehall, NY, the daughter of the late George H. Harrington and Florence M. Obyn Harrington.
Florence was a waitress at the Trade Winds Restaurant and Montcalm. She was also a Quality Control Specialist at the lingerie factory and a Food Demonstrator at Price Chopper. She was a devoted member and past president of the ITAM. She always greeted patrons with a friendly hello, a warm smile or a kind gesture. Outside work, she will be remembered as a woman who devoted her life to her family.
She is survived by her son, Anthony DeMatteo (Patty); granddaughter, Erin Dahlstrom (Jerad), Julie DeMarco (Thomas), Maria DeMatteo (Taylor Morris); great-grandchildren, Owen and Gavin DeMarco, Aubrey and Aidan Dahlstrom; her former husband, Gus DeMatteo and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many friends.
She was predeceased in death by her sisters, Mary Harrington, Miza M. Hoag, Louise Winchell; three brothers, George, Harry, and Edward Harrington; nephew, Marvin Lee Hoag Sr.; nieces, Miza Barnes, Tiny Perry, Kathleen Andrews,

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY.
Interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, NY following the service.
