Eileen F. Gailor, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.   During her final days, she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life.

She was born on June 22, 1929 in Victory Mills, NY, the daughter of the late Virgil Cormie and Catherine Waters Cormie. 

She always held her childhood days in and around Victory Mills near and dear to her heart and as a teenager she moved to Saratoga Springs where she graduated high school, class of 1946.  In 1953, she married and continued working at Thompson Laundry in Saratoga Springs while starting a family and landscaping business with her husband Ernest.  Her most precious moments were those spent with her family.  She enjoyed many years of vacations at Cape Cod and had many fond memories of time spent there with family and friends.  Although she had five children she advocated, supported and protected each one individually as if it were her only child.  She was a strong woman who gave of herself and expected nothing in return.  Her love of family was boundless and she always enjoyed her time spent with old friends, especially Smitty who always called her a real lady.  Eileen was truly the matriarch of the family. 

She is survived by her sons, Ernest J. Gailor (Gail), Michael V. Gailor (Mary), Steve Gailor, Peter Gailor; daughter, Julie Gailor; brother James Cormie (Del); grandsons, Jeremy, Jason, Mike, Cole Gailor, Alex Gailor and granddaughter, Mary Gailor.  

She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest N. Gailor and grandson, Sean Gailor.

A mass will be held at 10 am on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Notre Dame Visitation Church, 18 Pearl St, Schuylerville, NY 12871.  Family and friends may call on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, New York.

Interment will be at the Notre Dame Cemetery, 115 Burgoyne Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871 following the service.

A special thanks to the Saratoga Community Hospice, as well as all the nurses, staff and doctors who attended to Eileen at the Saratoga Hospital.
