Edward Eichorst, Jr.

MIDDLE GROVE - Edward Eichorst Jr., age 69, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital with his loving family at his side.

He was born on October 13, 1948 in Ballston Spa., NY, the son of the late Edward Eichorst, Sr. and Ethel Eichorst.

Edward was an Operator for the town of Greenfield for many years.  He also worked as a security guard for the Saratoga Harness track and as an Operator for Bokes, and Charelton Brothers Construction. He loved fishing, hunting, auctions, a great deal and playing on his equipment.  He loved going on family vacation with family and extended family. 

Edward is survived by his beloved wife Loraine Eichorst; daughter and son-in-law, Joan H. Desourdy and Henry Desourdy Jr.; sister, Bertha O’Hara; brother-in-law, Bob O’Hara; sister -in-law, Joan and Gordon McGrath; Donna Baker; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by brother, Richard Thompson; sister, Beverly Klyne; Nephews, Daniel Herrington and Mark Herrington; Niece Barbara Schukes; Brother-in-law, William Baker.

Calling hours will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, New York.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY. 

Interment will be at Middle Grove Cemetery, 400, Middle Grove Rd, Middle Gove, NY, following the service.
