Thomas Petrones Sr., age 71 passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 unexpectedly at home.  

He was born on April 27, 1946 in Catskill, NY, the son of the late Anthony Petronis and Matilda Eustis Petronis.  

Tom graduated from Saint Patrick’s High School, class of 1964.  He continued his education at Fordham University college majoring in Political Science.  Tom served his country with pride in the US Navy for eleven years.

Tom was an engineer at the Schenectady General Electric for many years prior to retiring in 2001.  After retirement Tom continued to stay active, he loved cars, trains, planes and playing with his dogs in the backyard.  He was very passionate about food, music and life in general. He cherished sharing all with his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his friends.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.      

He is survived by his wife Barbara Brownell Petrones of 50 years; sons, Thomas Petrones Jr. (Kimberly), Jonathan Petrones (Tatum); brothers, Kenneth Petrones (Mary), Alan Petronis (Jitka); grandchildren, Lucas, Aidan, Zane, Kai Petrones; many nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly.  

He is preceded in death by his father; Anthony Petronis and mother; Matilda Petronis.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at St. Peter’s Church, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 with Father Chevalier officiating.  

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 1, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Rte 385 Coxsackie NY 12051

Family and Friends may call from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, New York.
