Robert G. Eckelhoff, age 79, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Albany Medical Center.

He was the beloved husband of Carolyn White Eckelhoff.  Robert was born in San Francisco, California on June 26, 1936.  He was the son of the late Henry and Edna Eckelhoff.

After graduating from High School he attended San Francisco State College graduating in 1963 with a bachelor's degree in History. He was proud to serve his country in the US Army.  Upon being discharged from the Army Bob moved to NYC with his wife Carolyn and began his career in the financial business.   

He worked as a Vice President at Court Press in NYC for 30 years and upon retirement he spent his days enjoying his favorite past times such as; skiing, traveling, working in his yard, hiking and watching Grand Prix races.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Bob was able to fix anything as simple as a flat tire on a bike, roasting a turkey on a grill to building a house.  Family and friends loved his dry sense of humor and his kind heart. He spent 53 wonderful years married to the love of his life, Carolyn and was a devoted father to his children and grandchildren. Robert loved spending time with his family and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly

Robert is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn, son; Edward Eckelhoff (Katrina), daughter; Elizabeth “Liz” Murpy (John), brother; Ron Eckelhoff (Dorene), and grandchildren; Lauren & Brian Murphy and Frida & Anja Eckelhoff.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and brother; Ed.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 1:30 pm, at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.  Family and friends may call from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm prior to the service at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave, (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.). Saratoga Springs, New York.
