Peter Helm, age 63, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016, at home surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born on May 14, 1953, in Flushing, NY, the son of William and Dorcas Schultheis Helm.

Peter grew up in Flushing, NY, where he ran track in his youth.  As a young boy, he was also a bat boy for the Mets and continued to be an avid Mets baseball fan all his life. Peter worked as a cab driver for the White Cab Co. in Glens Falls for many years.

He had a passion for reading mystery novels, especially by author James Patterson. His other passion was watching the Mets and Giants play. When he was a child he even spent some time as a Mets ball boy.  In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling all up and down the east coast, and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends. 

Peter is survived by his loving wife, Nicole Engwer Helm; son Johnathan Paradise, and sons William Helm, Adam Helm, Peter Helm, Anthony Helm, and daughter Theresa Belli.  He is also survived by his sister Nancy Hel, Allen, several grandchildren, Nieces, nephews, cousins and all of Nicole’s loving family.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, daughter, Kristy; brother, Bobby; sister, Doranne Helm; and his first wife Loretta Balsan Helm.

A celebration of life will take place at Bay Road Presbyterian Church, 1167 Bay Road, Lake George, NY, between 1:00 PM and 3:00 on Saturday, December 3, 2016.  Pastor Nicholas TeBordo will officiate. 

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Saratoga County Hospice, Glens Falls Hospital - 3 West, the Pines Rehabilitation Center, and the Palliative Care Homeward Bound Program.
