Macy Carter Starrette

Macy Carter Starrette, age 86, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Wesley Healthcare Center, Saratoga Springs, NY.

Macy was born on May 21, 1931 in Anniston, Alabama, the daughter of the late Ebby Carter and Francis Odor Bryant Carter.

Macy married the love of her life, the late George Starrette and moved to Statesville, NC where they raised their family until 1990.  Macy’s life journey took her from Statesville to begin living with family from Rock Hill, SC, Albuquerque, NM, Raleigh, NC to finally Saratoga Springs, NY where she went home to be with the Lord.

Macy’s career was with the late Dr. Wesley Palmes Jr. as the Office Manager for approximately 30 years. Macy was known for her compassion, caring, giving and love of the Lord.  She constantly showed these qualities by her daily living and doing for others.  In 2004 a group of her daughters’ friends in Raleigh formed a club in honor of her called the Macy’s Daughters’ Club.

She is survived by her daughters, Georgetta Painter and son-in-law John Painter, Cindy Heath; grandson, Randall Feimster and wife Patty; granddaughters, Macy Batts and Caroline Painter; great-grandchildren, Colton, Kyla and Grayson Feimster, Jackson Ordway and many friends that will miss her dearly.

Arrangements are under the direction of Compassionate Funeral Care, Inc, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. 

A graveside memory service will be held at Iredell Memorial Gardens Statesville, NC at a later date.
