Kenneth J. Woodcock, 76, passed away on February 23, 2017 at his home in Ballston Spa., surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born on December 13, 1940 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the son of Kenneth S. and Winifred M. Woodcock.

Kenneth grew up in the Saratoga Springs area, and attended Saratoga Springs schools.

He worked for New York State Parks and Recreation as a Greens keeper where he worked for 41 years. Upon retirement, Ken lived an active life filling his days with gardening; his greatest passion was vegetable gardening for his family.  Kenneth married Joanne the love of his life in 1959 and they were happily married for 57 years. Kenneth was a member of Elks Club, Eagles Club, Italian American War Veterns, VFW, and American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Kenneth is survived by his spouse Joanne of Ballston Spa, his four children Melissa (Eric) Groff of Stillwater; Kenneth (Sheila) Woodcock of Greenfield Center; Kimberly (David) Kimball of Porter Corners; and Deborah (Jason) Wright, Gansevoort; his sister Winifred Lowery of Greenfield Center; his grandchildren Kenneth Woodcock III; Chad Keefe; Tara (Corey) Ringer; Shavon Keefe (Tim) Hobbins; Brooke Kimball (Eric) Culver; April Keefe (Vern) Dorgan;  Magen (Chris) Garrison; Tammi (Kevin) Hughes and children; Michael Kimball and child; and his great-grandchildren Hunter; Khloe; Xander; Jeff;  Aryanna; Freya; Rileyann; Leavi; Kameron; and his nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth S. and Winifred M. Woodcock; sister, Bonnie Patterson; brothers, Stephen Woodcock, Charles Woodcock and grandchild Mark A. Woodcock.

Family and friends may call from 4 pm – 7 pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. 

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. 

Interment will be at North Milton Cemetery following the service.

There will be a celebration in honor of Kenneth were family and friends are welcome to join the family for further fellowship at the Italian American War Veterans, 247 Grand Avenue Saratoga Springs, New York 12866 following the interment.
