June I. Kirkwood

June I. Kirkwood, age 96, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Home of the Good Shepherd surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on June 2, 1921 in Newcastle, PA, the daughter of the late Malcolm and Pearl Cole.

June was a long-time resident of Saratoga Springs where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania at the age of 73.   She was a homemaker who loved cooking, gardening, reading, bowling taking care of her family and a good laugh over coffee with friends.  She always sacrificed her needs for the good of the family.  She was always supportive and encouraging, always wise and kind; she was a proud wife and mother.  

June is survived by her children, Richard and wife Donna Kirkwood of Clinton, PA, Barbara J. Kirkwood of Saratoga Springs, NY, Martin and wife Liz Kirkwood of Saratoga Springs, NY; grandchildren, Richard and wife Candy, Kirkwood of Weirton, West Virginia, Tim Kirkwood of Clinton, PA, Kristi and husband Robert Wilson of Washingtonville, NY; great- grandchildren, Jake and Cole Wilson of Washingtonville, NY and many nieces and nephews in the Aliquippa area.

She is preceded in death by her husband “Bud” (Clarence) Kirkwood and her loving grandson, David H. Greene.

At the family’s request, there will be no calling hours or service.  There will be a private graveside service at a later date.
