Welcome to the memorial page for

Joan Vivian Fiorini

December 3, 1933 ~ February 5, 2017 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Joan Vivian Fiorini was born December 3, 1933, in Bruceton Mills West Virginia, the second child of Carl and Evelyn Seese.  She grew up on a family farm homestead among gentle and loving relatives.  Her surroundings and family helped her to form an appreciation for flowers, nature and landscapes.  This respect for nature would serve as inspiration for her art and love for animals.

After graduating valedictorian from Bruceton Mills high school she later graduated from Fairmont College in West Virginia with a degree in teaching. While teaching at Laird School in Warren, Ohio, she met her husband Richard James Fiorini, a fellow teacher while chaperoning a school dance.  They later married on October 12, 1957.  It was her encouragement and support that allowed her husband to change careers while already having a young family in order to become a physician.

Joan loved music and singing in choirs. She began singing duets with her sister during their childhood and continued singing with church and in symphony choirs throughout her life.  Her compassion and humility were witnessed by many through her actions such as buying winter coats or clothes for a family in need, food for the elderly, delivering Meals on Wheels, and all was done quietly while offering dignity and love to those in need. She was an avid reader and spent many years of her life enjoying a good book to debate within her book club. She remained an active church member throughout her life. Her remarkable artistic talent is forever present in her many beautiful paintings and pastels.  Her true devotion remains evident in how she raised her children and how much she loved her grandchildren.

There are many people who will greatly miss her beautiful, kind soul.  Joan leaves behind her loving husband, a sister, Elaine Barbour, her children Jennifer Fiorini, Cynthia Fiorini, Belinda Belli and husband Steve, and son, Jude Fiorini.  Her grandchildren Nicholas Fiorini, Natalia Fiorini, Patrick Belli, Noah Belli, Gabrielle Belli along with extended family members and many friends.

Private family services was held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.

In lieu of flowers, please donate your time or material donation to the charity of your choice in her name.
