James M. Kaplan, age 69, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 due to a motorcycle accident. 

He was born on May 17, 1948 in Nyack, NY, the son of the late Milton A. Kaplan and Harriet Patricia Kelley. 

He was self-employed in Nyack, NY for many years, as HomeCrafter, General Contracting.  He was active with the Saratoga Springs Elks Club, a member of the American Motorcycle Association, and the National Rifle Association. He also served his country with pride in the US Air Force during Vietnam years. 

Survived by his sisters, Patricia Ladipo, Ellen Hsieh (Alex) of St. Albans, Vt., Mara Cicaloni of Chester, Vt.; brother; John Kaplan (Lydia) of Hopewell Junction, NY; and many nieces and nephews. 

At the request of the family there will be no calling hours or service.  There will be a gathering of friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge, 1 Elks Ln, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

There will also be a gathering of family and friends October 7, in Nyack, NY., time and place to be determined.
