Grace Gonzalez, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 16, 1932 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Pio Cruz and Carmela Gonzalez.

Grace had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.  The beauty she exuberated through her loving and caring heart touched the hearts of everyone who met her.  She had a spirit of compassion, grace and love which brought joy and the spirit of positivity and cheerfulness to everyone she touched.  Grace’s favorite color was red, which is associated with energy, strength, determination, passion and love; this was truly who Grace was and will always be remembered.  She loved flowers, her dog Genie, and she was very grateful for her loving neighbors who was so gracious and kind to her.  But most of all her passion was spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.  Her home was a home full of love and compassion, and her home was always open, not just to her family but to her friends as well.

Grace is survived by her sons, Ramon Marrero, Robert Gonzalez; daughters-in-law, Milagros Gonzalez, Nilda Marrero, Sara Gonzalez; grandchildren, Jose Gonzalez, Bobby Gonzalez, Becky Holguin, Raymond Marrero, Debbie Marrero, Lazara Passamonte, Tommy Gonzalez, Lynda Dominguez, Victor Gonzalez, Samantha Dadon, Ramon Marrreo, Natalio Gonzalez, David Gonzalez, Deborah Torres, Isabel Gonzalez, Danny Gonzalez, Grace Gonzalez, Abelino Gonzalez, Milagros Gonzalez, Angela, Yolanda, Grace, Peter and Anthony Almestica, forty-one great-grandchildren and many friends. 

She is preceded in death by Louis Marrero, Esther Almestica, and Natalio C. Gonzalez.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, New York. 

A funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY.

Interment will be at the Gansevoort Cemetery, Route 50, Gansevoort, NY following the service.
