Gary S. Austin, age 64, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 with his wife Laurie at his side.

He was born on July 6, 1951 in Schenectady, NY, the son of Robert Austin and the late Stella Buck Austin.

Gary graduated from Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School, class of 1969.  He enjoyd playing sports especially Little League, he played through high school and beyond. 

He worked at G.E. for over 20 years before retiring and he had his own carpet and tile installation business, G&D Floor Covering for many years.  In his retirement, he was able to enjoy all the things he loved including hunting, fishing, and exploring the outdoors.  Gary had a special love for music and enjoyed listening to Blues music.  Gary lived to the fullest and made an impact on all those who met him.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Laurie McKay Austin who had a fun filled life together, father Robert Austin and his long term companion Nancy Golden of Burnt Hills, and sister; Bonnie Violet of Limerick, Maine.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 30, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at   Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave (Rt. 9 and or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 12 noon to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY.

The family would like to give a special thanks to hospice Nurse Karen for all her love, compassion and care for Gary.
