Diane Nichols, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 22, 1942 in Saratoga Springs, the daughter of the late George Butler and Hattie Aldrich.

She married Raymond Nichols Jr. and celebrated 43 years together on February 24, 2016.

Diane was a home cleaner for Payson in Saratoga Springs.  She was a very caring and compassionate person, always put the needs of others first.  She enjoyed camping, walking her dog Shelby and especially enjoyed traveling.  Diane was a kind, loving and a warm person who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 

Diane is survived by her husband Raymond and they had a fun filled life together, sons; Jefferey Brings, Raymond Nichols III, brother-in-law; William Nichols (Lisa), 3 grandchildren, brother; George Butler (Janice), sister; Sue Robinson (Ted), several nieces, nephews, step-brothers, and step-sisters.

She is preceded in death by her sister; Nancy Lane, Nephew Mike Meers, step-mother; Renee Butler.

The family would like to give a special thanks Dr. Mustafia, Dr. Chrismark, Dr. Nigam, Dr. Larosa and Dr. Weissman for her special care.  Especially thank you to the Nurse’s on C Floor – in 340 section at Saratoga Hospital for all their love, compassion and care.  A special thank you to Diane’s Hospice nurse Jen and special thanks to Saratoga Hospital nurse Kaylie, C-Section Rm. 343.

A funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  Calling hours will be held from 2 pm – 4 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. 

Interment will be private at the family’s request at North Milton Cemetery, Route 29, Saratoga Springs, NY. 

Donations in honor of Diane can be made to the Pet Connection with Channel 10 or a Humane Society in an area of your choice.
