SARATOGA SPRINGS - Arne (Lindy) Gulbrandsen, 88, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 1, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born on April 15, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Charles and Ingrid (Lorvold) Gulbrandsen.  

On July 24, 1954 he married the love of his life, Theresa Doscher.  They spent 59 wonderful years together.

Until his retirement, Lindy was a sales representative for J.H. Calo in Westbury, NY.  After he retired, he enjoyed volunteering in area schools with learning disabled children.  For many years, he sang in the choir at the Congregational Church of Manhasset, NY.  He loved to read and loved being around people.

He is survived by his two sons, Eric (Carrie) of Schroon Lake, NY and Doug (Stephanie) of Gansevoort, NY and three grandchildren, Lindsey, Emily and Ian.

Friends may call from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  A Celebration of Life will immediately follow.

Interment with military honors will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871 following the service.
